The Neepawa Titans Junior “A” Hockey Club began in 1949 when they played as an Intermediate hockey team playing in what was known as the Big Six Intermediate Hockey League (BSIHL). The BSIHL was an Intermediate ‘A’ hockey league operating in the Canadian province of Manitoba. The league was very competitive as it helped develop dozens of former and future NHL players including Hockey Hall of Fame recipient Bryan Hextall and Neepawa Native Jimmy Creighton, who went on to play with the Detroit Red Wings. When the NHL only had six teams, many quality players honed in on their skills in leagues like the BSIHL while moving on to higher levels or playing amateur hockey.
The junior installment of the Neepawa Titans Junior “A” Hockey Club began in 1989 as the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). The Neepawa team has a rich and proud history of developing players for all levels of hockey.
